Rosneft blames traders in troubled exchange sales of fuel
MOSCOW, Nov 22 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Rosneft has sent a letter to the Federal Antimonopoly Service blaming traders for the company’s decision to suspend fuel sales through a commodity exchange, the service’s Deputy Director Anatoly Golomolzin told reporters on Thursday.
On November 15, participants of the Saint Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX) said that the company suspended sales of gasoline and diesel fuel. A representative of the company told PRIME on Monday that Rosneft had resumed two-sided transactions to sell oil products directly to large industrial consumers and gasoline filling stations.
“We have a letter that Rosneft sent to us informing about the reasons of its actions…They blame traders and think that traders create conditions for non-market ways to form prices. This is one of the claims they have made,” Golomolzin said.
